They should of had 10 men
It was offside the only reason it could be overturned was because he ref thought Wilson didn’t touch it. Which he did with his fucking hand.

I can’t believe anyone will disagree with that.

I remember in 1967 while waiting for a corner to come over Dennis Law placed the palms on both hands on the face of our player John Charles who pushed Law's hands away. The ref awarded a penalty to Man Utd.

If you had told me that things even themselves out then, I may have believed it. But have been waiting since then for things to even themselves out and it has never happened.

I agree that generally you have to dust yourself down after bad decisions and get on with things hoping that the mistakes even themselves out over a season. Win some lose some.

This, however, is a special case. It wasn’t a slight offside missed or an onside goal disallowed, which are not easy for officials to get right every time. This was a combination of blatant offside and a handball that was called by the linesman who was clearly the best placed official to make the call, yet the referee over ruled him.

What possible reason could that be for? Why do you think he over ruled his lino? He must have flagged for one or the other of the offenses, either of which means no goal.

Either Madley is bent or is so thin skinned he took personal issue with the songs our fans sang at him earlier.

Whatever, he is not fit to referee.

Sport should be sport, not business. I don't want favouritism for us or anyone. if we'd have been treated fairly two seasons ago in the run in we probably would've crept into the top four, kept payet (for a little while longer) and our players confidence and desire would've been so much more than what we've seen since. Unfortunately it would seem the "once in a blue moon" spot was already occupied by leicester that season so things "didn't go our way".

Under those terms wouldn't we be favoured if we were a top 6 club then.

Isn't it up to us to get into that 6 - if only we had the ambition and money laden leadership.

Worth pointing out that Ali did another horrendous tackle in his next game.
We're looking at a Gascoigne situation here - if he had, as he should have been., sent off for his first challenge against Forest in that cup final, he wouldn't have made the second one and got injured and he may not have fucked up just as much.
Ali needs a fucking lesson

Re: English football is corrupt
stands to reason that the englsih game is weighted in favour to the top six. They account for about 80% of the viewing (tv and match attending) "support". If they don;t do well viewing figures will drop and, perish the thought, sky sports subscriptions will go down. No money for sky/bt/bein via subscriptions and advert revenue =no premier league income = no prize money = no astronomical players wages or ridiculous punditry pay. The game is dead as a domestic sport.

If you've been going for over 50 years can you remember when you watched Moore, Peters and Hurst playing, the refs fucking us over .. or Brooking, or Devonshire, or ...

As to the argument that things even themselves out in time. I've been going for over 50 years and would like to know when the evening out process is going to start.

Re: English football is corrupt
The refs are shit scared of the top teams and generally err in their favour for subconscious reasons, I doubt if any are taking bungs, but the consistency of decisions going the way of the likes of man Utd's is more than coincidence and has also been persistent for decades..

The rest of the the teams get whatever shit decisions refs give them. The job is impossible to perform without making errors.. There is unlikely to be a change towards video reffing because the loading towards big clubs is in the interest of the league/ FA administrators.West Ham not being part of the elite have been suffering from incompetent reffing for years.

Which is exactly why video refs are needed ASAP to stop one man cheating or making ludicrous decisions like today.
Might even been able to pick up King punching Obiang and alert the referee to the thuggery of Eddie Howes team of hatchet men.
Maybe they might even give a second opinion on Francis putting his studs in Kouyate’s Head and make a convincing argument of reckless play endangering an opponent for the obvious red card.

Re: English football is corrupt
I don't think that Madley is a cheat. Why would he hate us so much?

He is clearly incompetent though and you have to question his intellect. Again, his questionable facial expressions and a clear lack of any (if any) "good" genes make me wonder how this man is actually in any form of employment - let alone somehow made it as a professional referee.

For me, he would be more suited to simple, menial tasks like licking and sticking stamps on envelopes.

Re: English football is corrupt
Of course English football is corrupt regardless of todays ridiculous referee
When Pogba blatently dived to get Manu a free kick against Bristol City in the cup game from which Manu got their equaliser, nothing was said
Lanzini dives because he gets a minimal contact penalty, he immediately gets a ban
The horrendous career threatening tackles by Ali & Kane, both of which were nailed on red cards, don't get a 2nd thought from the FA (the England darlings)
Just a few examples in the last few weeks

13 Brentford

I played (long time ago) and managed for 8 years (also a long time agao) Ref biasness was rife mate, to the tune of fights on the game and abuse in league meetings.

Nothing suprises me with officials, i've heard them say they give decisions against teams they didn't like.

I'm sure this happens even in the top league.

Re: English football is corrupt
I've been playing & watching football as long as you 64 and never seen anything from a ref anywhere near as blatant cheating as that today, bar the time a ref refused to give my Sunday league a blatant penalty late in ET of a cup game which would have resulted in a pen shoot out because in his words afterwards he "had a christening to go to"
